HENLLAN 9
CLAWDDNEWYDD 0
DESPITE firing in nine during their Thursday night win over battling Clawddnewydd, Henllan won't win this season's Summer League title on goal difference.
Although they gained their bumper haul, Henllan still trail frontrunners Llangynhafal by 22 goals with only four games left to play.
Therefore, the Top Park side just need to overhaul the points tally of their rivals and at present Llangynhafal have a three-point advantage.
But the tangerines have a tricky run-in and Henllan will be targeting 12 points from their remaining games.
Turning back to Thursday night's action and the star of the show turned out to be prolific frontman Sam Jones, who bagged five of his side's goals.
This haul takes Jones' tally for the 2019 campaign up to 18 goals.
Also finding the target for the high-flyers were David Lawson-Cooke (2), Mathew Jones and Nedw Clwyd.
David Lawson-Cooke was Henllan's man of the match.
Henllan now have 12 wins for the campaign and the success saw them smash through the 50-goal barrier for the season.
