NANTGLYN 0
YSCEIFIOG 1
IT'S fair to say that Ysceifiog are one of the form teams heading into the Tony Evans Memorial Shield.
After failing to win any of their first eight matches, Tony Doyle's charges made it seven wins in 10 games thanks to a fine 1-0 success at high-flying Nantglyn.
Battling from the start of the encounter, Ysceifiog achieved their latest three-point haul courtesy of Mike Guest's goal.
Ysceifiog are now certain of a top-seven finish, which looked an unlikely target following the first month of the season.
Nantglyn have been in the upper reaches all season, but it is their home form which has scuppered any hopes of claiming the title they may have had.
This result marked Nantglyn's fourth home loss of 2019 and there is a real danger that they could finish outside the top-three.
