LLANGYNHAFAL 4
CAERWYS 1

JUST one more point will do the trick for Summer League leaders Llangynhafal.
It will take the most amazing finish to a season to deny the tangerines their first crown since 2001.

This win over Caerwys keeps Llangynhafal six points clear of Henllan at the top of the standings with only two games left to play.
And the leaders have a 25-goal buffer over their rivals as the season draws to a close.
While the 4-1 scoreline looks a comfortable one, it was anything but easy for Llangynhafal in the Thursday night sun.
Caerwys proved to be a tough nut to crack on the night and Llangynhafal were forced to work hard for their 15th success of the season.
On a blustery evening, the title favourites did manage to claim the lead in the ninth minute.

Owain McKee gives Llangynhafal the lead.

A long ball forward was flicked into the Caerwys box and Owain McKee hit a first time volley into the corner of the net from some 12 yards out.
That was that as far as the first half scoring was concerned.
Caerwys did go close to levelling things up from a speculative effort.
A free kick from the halfway line was dangerously headed on and Llangynhafal keeper Dylan Jones managed to palm the ball away from underneath the crossbar.

Overhit passes and crosses didn't help Llangynhafal's cause in the opening period, although they did have a glorious chance to stretch their lead, but Jak Newell's effort from close range clattered against the crossbar.
Llangynhafal applied early pressure when the second half got underway and a good save from the visiting number one denied Alun Vaughan-Evans.

However, the hosts did give themselves some breathing space in the 62nd minute.
Garmon Hafal has been Llangynhafal's talisman this season and he grabbed his 17th goal of the season.
He is the league leaders' top scorer, which is an amazing achievement considering the fact he is playing in the heart of the defence.
That goal allowed Llangynhafal to play with more freedom and they were soon able to make the points safe.
Within a further two minutes, the hosts were 3-0 up.

Owain McKee makes it 3-0.

Good work down the right hand side saw Dan Smith deliver a wicked cross into the box.
Owain McKee controlled it, turned and cracked a terrific left-footed effort into the net.
It was 4-0 in Llangynhafal's favour in the 67th minute.

Tom Dyer's free kick finds the back of the net.

The best was left until last, though, and Caerwys celebrated the goal of the night in the 69th minute.
Seth Geary curled his brilliant 25-yard free kick into the top corner of the net.

Chances still came after this and Llangynhafal went close to adding to their advantage.
Dyfan Humphreys had an opportunity for the home side's fifth goal, while the Caerwys keeper made a brilliant stop from a header.
