Club says a sad farewell to Bodelwyddan parkrun

Thirty-five of the red vests were on show among the 300+ strong field for the final event, which was the brainchild of club coach Eva Brewer, who had worked so hard to establish it.

Conditions were perfect for running, with eight members claiming personal bests for the course.

Club captain James Rogers has been his usual busy self, with three races in four days.

On Thursday, he ran in the first Sale Sizzler 5k in Wythenshawe, which, as usual, attracted a quality field.

He was 200th in 21.06, with Andrew Bromley 36th in 16.46.

On Sunday, James went just over the border to the Tilston 10k near Malpas and he finished 17th overall in 43.57.

Last week, four members headed for the hills again, this time for the Moel Llys-y-Coed race in the Clwydian Hills, a 4.75-mile race involving over 1,100 feet of climbing.

Missing from the previous week’s results of the Rhyl RunFest 10k was Helen Alefounder, who clocked 57.30.
