TITLES, trophies and numerous personal bests have gone the way of Prestatyn Running Club members during the past week, with successes on road, trail and fell.

Once again, there was a huge turnout from the club in both the off-road Grand Prix race at Shotton and the Fairy Freckled Cow Trail race around the Alwen Reservoir, which was the North Wales championship.

Several members did at least two of the events, with Amie Bagnall winning both and Steve Skates following up his win at Shotton with the M40 title at the Alwen.

Three members came away with trophies from last week’s Ruthin 5k. Both Andy Clark and Kat Prestwich chalked up pbs in the Alderley Edge 10k, Andy taking a massive three minutes off his previous best for the distance.

There were mixed fortunes for the club’s two pairs in last week’s Jubilee Relay on Moel Famau, in which one runner goes up to the summit from Llandyrnog and the other descends.

Helen Ashworth and Steve Brown finished as the third mixed pair in 49.43, while Cara Jones went off-course while descending, resulting in her and partner Helen Alefounder clocking one hour and 43 minutes.
