LLANDYRNOG 2
CEFN 1
PAT Hinchcliffe's brilliant strike has secured yet another final fling for Llandyrnog.
Hinchcliffe cracked in the decisive goal as Jimmy McNally's charges saw off Cefn via a 2-1 scoreline to book their spot in Friday's Tony Evans Memorial Shield final.
It was a tight tussle in the last-four clash at Caerwys, but Llandyrnog came through the test and they have a chance to grab an unprecedented 19th Shield later this week.
Initially, things appeared to be going in Cefn's favour.
When they were awarded a penalty, Jake Walker tucked it away for his 31st goal of a profitable campaign.
Llandyrnog refused to allow their heads to drop, though, and they were level when Eddie Evans' half-volley from just inside the box found the target.
It was then the turn of midfielder Pat Hinchcliffe to take centre stage.
He hit a brilliant volley from all of 35 yards into the top corner of the net.
Llandyrnog will face either Nantglyn or Llangynhafal in the final.
