PRESTATYN Running Club has three more North Wales champions after Sunday's wet and miserable Helena Tipping 10k in Wrexham.

Amie Bagnall was three fourth lady overall and the first senior lady, but took the regional title, while the other champions were Gareth Hughes (M70) and Roger Harrison-Jones (M80).

Despite the conditions, several recorded personal bests, the most impressive being that of Stuart Quayle, who broke the 60-minute barrier for the first time and by a wide margin.

It was the women's turn to take the honours in Dolgellau 5-mile race on Saturday, winning the team prize.

Steve Skates won the Green Green Grass of Home hill-race on Moel Famau by the finest of margins - a single second.

He clocked 40.38.

A combination of youth and experience paid dividends in last week's club relays around Marine Lake, in which 42 members - seven teams of six - took part.

The winning team, with a time of 39.27, included the oldest

competitor, 78-year-old John Hickman, and the youngest, Hugh Holland. They were teamed with Jo Edwards, Hannah Lowrie, Wyn Roberts and Amie Bagnall.

Fastest female: Jenna Bagnall 5.36; Fastest male: Leon Bagnall 4.46; Fastest junior: Hugh Holland 5.27.

Another junior in great form at the moment, Oliver Birch, finished 19th overall in the Wepre parkrun, clocking 24.12.
