PEOPLE can learn about the intricacies of a sport next month.

Rhyl and St Asaph Angling Association's next introduction to fly fishing event takes place next Sunday, August 11.

It will be held at the association's trout lake near Denbigh.

The event is open to most age groups and all abilities.

The cost to non-members is just £10, which will be refunded if they later decide to join the Rhyl and St Asaph Angling Association.

The introduction to fly fishing event will run from 10.30am until 3pm.

Following initial casting tuition with the association's three qualified coaches, people will then get the opportunity to try fly fishing for feisty rainbow trout in the spring-fed lake.

One rainbow trout may be taken home.

Participants are asked to take along suitable clothing and lunch, but all fishing equipment will be supplied.

Interested people must book in prior to the event.

They can do so by contacting David Gartside on 01745 824231 or e-mailing northwalesrestrings@btinternet.com, where full details and directions will be provided.
