HIGH-FLYING Wings A lead the Denbigh and District Darts League after claiming two important wins.

Huw Watson's charges toppled previous league leaders and reigning champions the Wingmen 5-3.

Sion Watsham claimed a last game win to crucially give his side the spoils.

Wings A then recorded a 7-1 win over Wings B a week later to top the charts by two points.

Here, there was a 180 and a 105 outshot by Deian Roberts, plus a maximum and 17-darter by Sion Watsham to help them on their way.

Wings B were so close to a first league victory of the season when they lead high-flying Railway A 3-1.

However, there was to be agony for the Wings as the visiting league contenders pipped them 5-3 at the end, with the home unit ruing missed doubles.

The Clwyd Ladies Superleague is underway, with Denbigh representatives the Wings recording a recent 4-2 derby victory at the Sun Inn of Rhyl.

Karen Coates, Hayley Turley, Vicky Langan and a first Superleague scalp for Tyisha Crofts helped the side to victory.

Previously, the Denbigh side had started their campaign with a 5-1 reverse to the Drovers of Mold, with Rachel Kingdon the sole Wings winner on the evening.
