BALA 46

IT was job done in the first half as Bala successfully made it through to the second round of the Specsavers Plate.

The men from Maes Gwyniad managed to shut hosts Llangefni out during Saturday's first round encounter and they eventually ran out comfortable 46-0 victors.

"Once again, we didn't play all that well," admitted club chairman Tony Parry.

"But it's another job done."

Bala did the hard work against the wind in the first half and they built up a 20-point advantage by the time the half-time whistle was sounded.

The star of the show as far as the visitors were concerned was Owain Aled, who crossed for a hat-trick of tries during the contest.

There were also tries for Ilan Rowlands, Moi Dafydd, Garen Davies and Miall Roberts.

Adding to the tally, Llion Jones kicked four conversions and a penalty.

Next up for Bala is a testing trip to old foes Nant Conwy on Saturday.

While Bala have enjoyed a 100 per cent winning start to their season, Nant are still searching for a first victory of the campaign.

"That's going to be a tough one and we are going to have to up our game for that one," added Parry.
