ST ASAPH CITY 1

LLANBERIS 3

A POOR start played its part as St Asaph City departed the JD Welsh Cup at the hands of Llanberis.

The Saints were unable to reach the first-round proper after giving themselves too much to do in the second half.

The home side fell behind on 10 minutes when Gethin Wakeham successfully converted from the penalty spot.

Further goals after the break from Nidian Huws and Tomos Saynor ensured the Saints exited the competition.

St Asaph eventually responded via Paul Fleming's penalty.

Also out of the competition are Llandyrnog United, who lost out 4-2 at Coedpoeth United.

SEVEN days after their brilliant 4-1 win over leaders Brymbo, Llanuwchllyn were on the wrong end of this scoreline during their latest Wrexham Area League Premier Division outing.

A hat-trick from Tom Douglas helped hosts Rhostyllen to a comfortable win, with Sam Evans on target for Llan.

Turning to Division One and strikes by Kristian Jones and Sam Giles handed Llangollen Town a 2-1 success in their home clash with Overton.

Strikes from David Wilkins and Luke Humphreys gave Ruthin Town Reserves a 2-1 Reserves' Division win at Brickfield, while Corwen Reserves triumphed 4-3 at Gresford Athletic thanks to Owen Cordiner (2), Andrew Roberts and an own goal.

In the Reserves / Colts Division, player-boss Adam Galdo and Tomos Lloyd found the target as Bala Town Reserves saw off Cefn Albion 2-1.

Oli Derosa and Owain McKee both struck for Ruthin Town Development in their 4-2 loss at Connah's Quay, while Llangollen Town Reserves celebrated a 3-2 win at Overton.

Kurtis Barner, Louis Decourt and Joe Morris were the scorers.
