PENTRE DRAGONS U-16s 0

DENBIGH TOWN U-16s 4

IT took James Thomas only 40 seconds to make his mark as Denbigh Town Rhinos U-16s maintained their winning ways with an excellent 4-0 victory against Pentre Dragons U-16s.

Thomas swept in a very early opener from a tight angle after pressuring the home defence into a mistake and set the tone for the rest of the game.

Thomas grabbed a second 15 minutes later as Denbigh doubled their advantage.

In-form Jake Roberts was put through, but he was forced too wide by the home defence.

His cross was powerfully met by the head of Finn McCoole, forcing stunning stop from the keeper, only for Thomas to rifle in the rebound for his second.

Thomas saw a chance for the hat-trick smash the post on the stroke of half-time.

Pentre were still in the game as they battled hard, but Jake Jones was equal to everything, while Jake D Roberts and Gruff Mars-Jones gave the opposition very little change.

Iwan Moores' lovely turn and shot was blocked, but the rebound fell kindly for Jake Roberts to lift in his ninth of the season.

Moores grew into the game in the second half and saw his shot cannon of the post.

He was involved again and his cross was met by the head of Tomos Jones for goal number four.

Fine work from Lewis Devine and an excellent cameo from Lewis Bellis topped a great three points and another Denbigh clean sheet.
