LLANGEFNI 26

BALA 7

WHILE it's currently a real struggle for Bala in Division One (North) action, the effort remains there.

Injuries meant that the crisis in the backs continued for the side from Maes Gwyniad, who lost out 26-7 during their weekend trip to Llangefni, who were able to celebrate their second league triumph of the campaign.

"We lost a couple more players with injuries on Saturday," said Bala chairman Tony Parry.

"We are just down to the bare bones now.

"There were lads from the second team playing out of position in the first team.

"But we battled until the end."

Despite trailing 26-0 late on, Bala didn't throw in the towel and a period of pressure was rewarded when they gained a penalty try.

It's a real positive that Bala were once more again able to field three teams on Saturday.

Bala 2nds were looking to take to the field with 13 players for their match against Llandudno 2nds.

However, traffic issues meant that five players arrived late as Bala lost out by a 125-17 margin.

Bala Youth were defeated 54-0 in their meeting with Nant Conwy Youth.
