CERRIGYDRUDION 3

LLANELWY ATHLETIC 4

MATHEW Lewis' last minute strike proved to be crucial as Llanelwy Athletic edged out hosts Cerrigydrudion in a seven-goal Vale of Clwyd and Conwy League Premier Division thriller.

Athletic made a bright start and goals from Luke Stanley and Lewis had them two goals up inside 14 minutes.

Gethin Jones pulled one back for Cerrig in the 58th minute, only for Steve Kirk to restore Llanelwy's two-goal cushion four minutes later.

Back came Cerrig and efforts from Dyfed Baldry and Nidian Jones appeared to have salvaged a point, but Lewis' last gasp strike sealed a thrilling win for Athletic.

In further Premier Division action, Bro Cernyw made their point in a goalless draw at Llanelwy Athletic.

Turning to the first round of the President's Cup and Denbigh Town Development were edged out 2-1 at home to Machno United.

Owen Heath was on the scoresheet for Denbigh.

Elsewhere, Craig Taylor (2) and Dylan Ford found the target for Henllan in their 7-3 loss at Llandudno Amateurs Reserves.
