A SPOT in the top-five of the Premier Division in the Wrexham Area League is Llanuwchllyn's reward for a successful away day.

Llan paid a weekend visit to Castell Alun Colts and they returned home with all three points on the back of a hard-fought 2-1 success.

Jac Evans and Joe Evans were on the scoresheet for Llanuwchllyn.

Alistair Randles had earlier handed Castell Alun Colts the lead

Things remain tight at the head of the standings and Llan are just five points adrift of the pace being set by frontrunners Brymbo.

Llangollen Town continue to lead the way in Division One on the back of their key 1-0 home success versus title rivals Hawarden Rangers.

Dewi Edwards grabbed the all important goal for Llangollen, who achieved their fifth success of the season.

Chad Humphreys also missed a penalty for the Tower Fields hosts, who now find themselves three points clear at the top.

It turned out to be a four-midable weekend for Ruthin Town Reserves in Reserves' Division action.

Two goals from Osian Audley helped Ruthin to gain a 4-0 margin of victory in their home clash versus Llay Welfare Reserves.

David Wilkins and Tom Sharples netted the remaining goals for Town, who won for the third time this season.
