BLAENAU AMATEURS 5

LLANDYRNOG UNITED 2

THE scoreline doesn't tell the full tale of Llandyrnog United's Lock Stock Welsh Alliance League trip to Blaenau Amateurs.

It remained tight until the closing stages and Llandyrnog only trailed 3-2 with 10 minutes remaining.

However, Blaenau's Meilir Williams struck twice in the concluding few minutes to make sure the home side claimed the three points.

The evergreen Derry Morris gave United the lead in the fifth minute when he slotted in from Josh Jones' corner.

Blaenau delivered a determined response at the end of the half, though, and Iwan Jones' 13-minute hat-trick had them in control at the interval.

Although the sending off of Chris Evans reduced them to 10 men prior to the interval, United weren't about to throw in the towel and good work from Ian Williams and Josh Jones set up Ross Gilbert to reduce the deficit on 57 minutes.

The home side weren't going to be denied and Meilir Williams' double made sure of the win.
