LLANSANNAN 3

ABERGELE 3

HOW important will Geraint Jones' last minute strike turn out to be at the end of the season?

It proved to be a topsy-turvy Vale of Clwyd and Conwy League encounter as Llan hosted Abergele in a top-of-the-table Premier Division clash.

Abergele were leading the way ahead of the kick-off and they appeared on course for a sixth win of the season when they held a 3-2 lead with time almost up.

This Llansannan team is made of stern stuff, though, and Geraint Jones' 90th minute strike made sure they picked up a share of the spoils.

Connor Atkinson's ninth minute goal put Abergele into the lead and it took until the early stages of the second period for the next goal to arrive.

Geraint Jones levelled things up 10 minutes after the restart, while Euros Lloyd's effort nine minutes later gave Llansannan the lead.

Jack Hoult and Connor Atkinson netted within 60 seconds of each other to regain the lead for Abergele, only for Jones to make it three-apiece in stoppage time.

Bro Cernyw are also in the mix for the Premier Division crown and a 6-4 home success over Llanelwy Athletic handed the villagers their fifth win of the campaign.

Robin Hughes (2), Lloyd Hubbard (2), Ianto Roberts and Ioan Williams were all on target for the home side.

An own goal, Kevin Rickard (2) and Steve Kirk made up the Athletic tally.
