LLANELWY ATHLETIC 3
Y GLANNAU 5
A FINE second half fightback ensured that local bragging rights belonged to the lads from Y Glannau.
Their trip to Llanelwy Athletic was the only Vale of Clwyd and Conwy League match to survive last weekend's freezing conditions.
Initially, things looked to be going in Athletic's favour and they built-up a 3-1 lead by the time the half-time whistle was sounded.
Back came Y Glannau, though, and four goals in the final 21 minutes gave the visitors the three points.
Y Glannau enjoyed the better start with Chris Rogers giving them the lead after only nine minutes.
The rest of the half was all about Llanelwy Athletic, with Steve Kirk levelling things up in the 21st minute.
Athletic had the lead just six minutes later as Neil Fazackerley struck, while Luke Stanley's effort after 45 minutes made it 3-1 at the interval.
The hosts would maintain their two-goal cushion until the 69th minute, when Adam Hall revamped Y Glannau's hopes.
It was three-apiece with a quarter-of-an-hour remaining as Jordan Davies found the target and Connor Heath's effort saw Y Glannau claim the lead in the 81st minute.
Joey Fontana bagged Y Glannau's fifth goal from the penalty spot with four minutes left to play.
