ST ASAPH City manager Daniel Brewerton credited his side for their fighting spirit following their 1-1 home draw with Nantlle Vale.

The Saints’ made it two unbeaten to continue their recent resurgence in Lock Stock Welsh Alliance Division One and they will aim to extend their positive momentum next Saturday during a trick looking trip to Llanrug United.

Brewerton said: “Overall, under the circumstances, I think we’re all pretty happy with the draw.

“We know the qualities Nantlle Vale have and coming off the back of last weekend’s result it was always going to be a tough game for us."

A strong start from the visitors saw them go into the break a goal to the good when Aaron Hughes found some space in the area before producing a fine strike on the turn.

After the break, the home side dominateD the early exchanges and they were rewarded on 65 minutes when Josh Brown headed in the leveller.
