BALA TOWN 3

CAERNARFON TOWN 0

WHAT a way to end the year!

Bala Town's 2019 programme ended on Monday as they eased to a 3-0 home triumph versus Gwynedd rivals Caernarfon Town.

The Canaries started very well as they looked to gain revenge for their 2-0 Boxing Day defeat at The Oval, however it was the Lakesiders who took an early lead.

With nine minutes played, a break down the right between Andy Burns and Louis Robles saw Chris Venables carve open the Caernarfon defence to find an unmarked Henry Jones seven yards out and he slotted into an empty net.

The game was very open in the first half, with some very quick counter attacking play by both sides.

In the 22nd minute, the game came to a stop with a 15-minute delay as Nathan Craig collided with Shaun Cavanagh.

The Caernarfon captain required medical attention and an ambulance was called to take him to hospital.

Early signs have shown severe concussion and all at Maes Tegid wish Craig all the best for a speedy recovery.

In the second half, it was one-way traffic from the Lakesiders.

They were further ahead five minutes after the restart.

Spittle’s long ball forward arrived to Venables, who turned Williams and Edwards inside out, before he danced past Ramsay to find the back of the net.

Caernarfon's hopes of a fightback were effectively ended when Leo Smith was sent off for a late challenge on Nathan Burke.

With seven minutes left to play, it was three for the Lakesiders.

A Bala ball into the area was dropped by Ramsay and it went straight into the path of the waiting Spittle, who rocketed in an effort from six yards out to make it 3-0.
