AIRBUS UK BROUGHTON 1

BALA TOWN 6

THE Lakesiders hit Airbus for six in a Friday night friendly.

In a game that saw all of the Bala Town squad having a run out, the visitors started the match in the best way possible as Nathan Burke scored with a looping effort from the edge of the box to give his side the lead.

Bala were playing some high tempo football and they had numerous opportunities to go further ahead, but they couldn’t capitalise on their opportunities.

On the half-hour mark, Airbus drew level when they out-battled Bala off the ball, which allowed Hughes to fire into the net.

Ten minutes prior to the interval and Bala added a second goal of the evening when Sean Smith’s excellent cross found Kieran Smith, whose bullet header flew into the back of the net from six yards.

At half-time, changes to both line-ups saw fresh legs introduced and plenty of tactics were worked on.

Bala were playing with confidence and they went further ahead on 52 minutes as Louis Robles' initial effort rattled the base of the post and the rebound was duly tucked in by Steve Leslie.

Two quickfire goals came midway through the half.

Firstly, Robles drove the ball through the keeper's legs to make it 4-1, prior to Mike Hayes making it 5-1 with a superb strike from 10 yards after turning his marker.

Six minutes from time and Bala rounded off their great performance with a sixth.

Hayes struck again with a fantastic shot from an acute angle into the top left corner of the net after an attack from the left and a cross to him from Burns.

It was a useful run out for the Bala lads and a comprehensive win to boot.
