LLANUWCHLLYN players were forced to kick their heels instead of the ball over the weekend.

Heavy rain meant that the club's scheduled Wrexham Area League Premier Division encounter at home to Chirk AAA was postponed.

It turned out to be a disappointing weekend for Llangollen Town in Division One action.

The Tower Fields side entertained Coedpoeth United in a genuine title six-pointer.

Coedpoeth would strengthen their hopes of claiming the championship after securing a 4-1 success.

Llangollen were in the lead at the interval thanks to Dewi Edwards' strike, but Coedpoeth stormed back in the second half thanks to efforts from Craig Stewart, Daniel Jones and Tom Bridges (2).

Coedpoeth have now gone above Llangollen and into second spot in the standings.

Hawarden Rangers extended their lead at the top to six points via their 4-0 success at Mynydd Isa Spartans.

Turning to the Reserves / Colts Division and Bala Town Reserves were able to make their point.

The Lakesiders played out a 1-1 draw during their visit to Johnstown Youth Reserves.

Sam Roberts was on the scoresheet for Bala, with Rhys Davies responding.

Elsewhere, Sean Phelan, Connor Jones and Scott Davies combined for

Coedpoeth United Reserves in their 3-1 success versus Llangollen Town Reserves.

Cefn Mawr Rangers secured a 2-0 success against Ruthin Town thanks to Mike Dugene and Gary Whittaker.
