LLANSANNAN booked their place in the NWCFA Junior Cup quarter finals with a 3-1 success at Rhos United.

The Vale of Clwyd and Conwy League Premier Division championship contenders came from a goal down early on to secure a spot in the last eight, where Tom Lewis’ side will take on either Llandudno Amateurs Reserves or Trearddur Bay Bulls for a place in the final four.

Despite the eventual result, it was the hosts who drew first blood when a Tom Edgley effort found its way past Luke Jones to break the deadlock.

This was met by a swift response from the visitors, who levelled matters immediately following the restart when a nice passage of play was finished off by Keiran Kendrick.

After the break, the away side got their noses in front for the first time on 71 minutes thanks to a powerful strike from the experienced Joe Maguire.

They wrapped things up late on when a quick break presented a chance to prolific forward Geraint Jones, who made no mistake with the finish to complete the scoring.
