SWANSEA 24

RGC 25

A LAST gasp score made sure of a dramatic weekend success for RGC.

With the clock ticking down towards the end of their WRU Premiership contest, Swansea held a 24-20 lead over visiting RGC.

However, the Gogs put pressure on the All Whites' line with a couple of scrums, before Oscar Lennon grabbed the ball and darted over for the key score to secure a dramatic victory.

RGC started the game with the wind in their favour and they took the lead with a penalty from Billy McBryde.

The visitors were working well around the breakdown, but accuracy in their passing was letting them down.

That enabled Swansea to get a foothold in game and they started to build up some pressure.

The scrum was dominant and RGC were having to defend for longer.

Jay Williams made a powerful run into some space and again RGC were struggling to contain the home side.

Winger Rhys Tudor was caught offside and scrum half Matthew Aubrey took a quick tap penalty.

James Davies made a break and found Tom Williams on his shoulder, who juggled the ball before backing his pace to score.

James Davies converted.

RGC managed to regain the lead after driving maul was brought down by Owen Thomas and a penalty try was awarded.

The Swansea hooker was also shown a yellow card.

The Gogs then had their best attack of the game when they worked the phases well and controlled the ball before spinning it wide to Rhys Tudor, but the winger spilled the ball yards from the touchline.

Swansea were rewarded with a try early in the second half after Callum Bowden crashed over.

The lead swung again in RGC's favour when McBryde hit over a penalty.

It wasn't a game for the purists, with both sides stuggling to get ball in hand, but with the loose play it was leading to plenty of excitement.

The All Whites then claimed the try of the game when hooker Owen Thomas spun and skipped through tackles to touchdown.

James Davies extended the lead with a successful conversion.

Skipper Tom Hughes was trying to create something, but the home side were shutting down many of RGC's attacks.

Swansea’s bonus point try arrived after charged down kick rebounded off an RGC player to allow Cambriani in for a score in the corner.

The game was running away from the Gogs and the wind was also against them which meant exit ball kicking was proving difficult.

Heading into the last 10 minutes of the game and Tom Hughes sparked some life into his side with a score.

Replacement Delwyn Jones took a quick tap to run up the field before setting up Hughes for the try.

McBryde hit difficult conversion from the touchline into the wind and that would prove crucial in the outcome of the game.

With a minute left on the clock Matthew Moore was yellow carded for Swansea and RGC took full advantage from a line-out.

The pack drove on and from the resulting scrum, Oscar Lennon grabbed the decisive try to seal a memorable victory.
