IT was derby day for a pair of Ruthin Town sides over the weekend.
In Wrexham and District Youth League action, Ruthin Town U-15s met Ruthin Blues U-15s in a local derby.
Conditions proved to be very tricky due to the high winds and Ruthin Town got off to a quick start with a goal from Charlie Tokarczyk.
This was followed by further Ruthin Town goals by Ifan Tudor and Harry Hewitt to make it 3-0 at half-time.
Ruthin Blues put up a spirited performance, but they were unable to overcome an in-form Ruthin Town side, even with a following wind in the second half.
A long range shot from Arthur King for the Blues gave his side some hope and they went close again soon after when a free kick crashed against the crossbar.
However, Ruthin Town were too strong on the day and Ifan Tudor scored his side's fourth goal to seal the win.
