HAWARDEN RANGERS 3
LLANGOLLEN TOWN 1
A TOP-OF-THE-TABLE encounter failed to go in favour of Llangollen Town over the weekend.
Wrexham Area League Division One leaders Hawarden Rangers entertained fellow title wannabes Llangollen on Saturday and it was the frontrunners who strengthened their position via a 3-1 scoreline.
Tom Bridges (2) and Craig Stewart struck for Hawarden, who moved nine points clear at the top.
Cody Silvester pulled a goal back for Llangollen.
Turning to the Reserves / Colts Division and Llangollen Town Reserves experienced a 3-0 home loss at the hands of Mynydd Isa Spartans.
Tom Mitchell netted a hat-trick for the victors.
There was better fortune for Ruthin Town Development, who secured a 6-4 margin of victory in a thriller at home to Brymbo Reserves.
David Wilkins (2), Alun Evans (2), Peter Jones and Ben Smith sealed the three points for Ruthin.
