DENBIGH Tennis Club has been doing its bit to keep its members and tennis fans in general occupied during the coronavirus lockdown.

The club has been offering a daily quiz via its social media pages

Officials say DTC hopes to return to practice as soon as current restrictions are lifted, with regular club tournaments, as well as coaching sessions, available to club members.

Their membership fees will also be significantly reduced to reflect the time lost from April 1 onward.

Committee members are also urging locals to think about picking up a racket when the club returns.

Club secretary Steffan Jones said: "Our membership fees are already making tennis one of the cheapest sports in Denbigh and it's a really easy game to pick up.

"The current league fixtures have been suspended and we are reaching very uncertain times at the moment, so will need a boost in new people joining to reflect the loss of income.

"This will also be a great way for us all to get active and outdoors again on a regular basis after being on lock-down for another few weeks to come, at least."

"Tennis is a fun and sociable sport to play and we have many great opportunities for everyone to get involved in this year and will be sending out more of our plans for you all to be part of when the government guidelines allow us to do so."

"For now, we are using our social media sites to keep people updated and involved, offering daily quizzes and providing everyone with up to date advice on playing tennis and building up interest."
