BALA TOWN'S preparations ahead of the 2020/21 season have already began with one player leaving and one player arriving at the club.

It is as yet unclear when the next Cymru Premier campaign will begin due to the coronavirus pandemic putting a halt to the port in recent months.

Nevertheless, that hasn't stopped Lakesiders manager Colin Caton from making changes at Maes Tegid as the club looks to go even further than the third-placed finish it achieved in 2019/20 following the curtailment of that campaign.

First to arrive at the club this summer is Cardiff Metropolitan University star Will Evans (above).

The versatile player, 22, has spent five seasons at the Archers which saw him play in their Europa League campaign and earn a call-up to the Wales C squad.

Speaking about capturing Evans, who scored seven goals for Cardiff Met in 2019/20 including a winner against Bala in January, Bala manager Colin Caton (below) said:

"We are really pleased to get Will. He has been at Cardiff Met for a number of years and been a player that I've really, really admired.

Denbighshire Free Press:

"We'd always be interested when he moved home (to Welshpool) and he has now as he looks to go into a teaching job. He's a great addition to the squad that can play anywhere across the front line and in midfield. He'll be a great addition not just as a player but socially as well, as he's a really nice lad, he fits what we are about."

Meanwhile, leaving Bala Town is goalkeeper Josh Tibbetts (below), who joined the club last summer and went on to make 21 appearances in all competitions, keeping six clean sheets.

In a tweet, he wrote: "Want to say a huge thank you to Bala Town FC for my time at the club. Unfortunately I won’t be back next season from a decision not in my hands. Thanks to the fans and the support throughout the season and good luck next year."
