CORWEN Football Club has made several changes to its management team and backroom staff ahead of the 2020/21 season.

Following the Football Association of Wales (FAW)'s decision to implement promotion and relegation last week, the club was demoted from the Cymru North league (division two).

Despite obtaining a tier two licence, the club is expected to play in tier three in 2020/21 having been relegated alongside Porthmadog and Llanfair United.

And, with first team manager Sion Tudor also having stepped down from the role earlier this month, there have been a number of changes made to the coaching staff at the club too as the club prepares for next season.

Nick Jones has been appointed as first team manager on a permanent basis, having previously worked as caretaker manager following the departure of Danny Jellicoe.

Joining him as part of the management team at the War Memorial Park ground in 2020/21 will be Nathan Aldridge, James Davies, Danny Jones and Gareth Bodden.

Davies comes in as first team coach, having previously had a successful playing career starting out at Wrexham FC and also playing for Ruthin Town, Llangollen Town and Corwen.

Aldridge comes in as a goalkeeper coach and back-up keeper, Jones has taken on the role of club physio and Bodden will be kit man

New first team manager Nick Jones said he was 'pleased' to add the quartet to his coaching team and added: "I look forward to working with them all for the coming season."

Among other plans set for Corwen in 2020/21 season, is the introduction of the 250-seater 'Huw Chick Jones stand', which was granted planning permission in March.
