LONG-SERVING Bala Town star Stuart Jones is the latest player to leave Maes Tegid during a busy spell of coming and goings at the club.

The Lakesiders have made three signings, retained eleven players and have seen five, including Jones, depart over the last month or so.

Defender Jones spent nine years with Bala and is regarded as one of the club's most decorated players with a Welsh Cup Final winners medal and numerous Europa League appearances to his name.

The club stalwart made 259 appearances in all competitions, scoring 19 times, and was instrumental in Town’s iconic Europa Playoff Final win aver Port Talbot Town in 2013.

Upon Jones' departure, Bala Town manager Colin Caton said: “I’m sad that Stu’s time with us has come to an end and I wish him all the best.

"He’s the last member of the Port Talbot Playoff Final squad that’s been with us. Stuart’s been a great servant to the Club – his attitude, his approach, determination, everything what he’s given us has been fantastic.

“I can’t thank him enough for his desire and his workrate that he’s given to Bala Town over the years. He’s such a good lad and one of the lads I’ll keep in touch with. I’ve got nothing but good things to say about him and we wish him well on his next part of his career. He’s been with us 9 seasons so I hope it goes well for him on his next move and thank him for everything that he’s done.”
