A TALENTED duo have recently put Denbigh Dragons swim club on the map.
Sian Evans and Gruff Crowther have been two of the standout stars at the club recently.
Sian, aged 12, has been selected to represent the Swim Wales National Skills squad. She achieved this by being ranked in the top two places in Wales for the 50m freestyle for her age category.
Sian's ranking was achieved due to results based on times achieved at swimming meets over the last year previous to July 31, 2020.
Sian was also one of the favourites to achieve a podium position in a couple of swimming events at the swim Wales Easter and summer national championships. But, due to Covid-19, these were cancelled.
Meanwhile, Gruff has been selected for the National Para Performance Centre. Just like Sian, 11-year-old Gruff who has visual impairment, achieved this due to his ranking.
Talking about the pair's achievements, Denbigh Dragons coach Justin Jones said: "It's great for the club and something we as coaching staff have been working towards over the last five years.
"We've always wanted to put a structure in place whereby our many talented swimmers can flourish and achieve great things if they have the correct attitude."
