RUTHIN Town FC made it two wins out of two in their friendlies as they beat St Asaph City 3-0 on Saturday.

The JD Cymru North (tier two) outfit ran out comfortable winners in the end thanks mostly to some great finishing.

Ruthin made a good start to proceedings and went ahead thanks to a well-taken goal from Will Owen, before Dan Cox doubled their advantage just before the interval after a period of sustained pressure.

The visitors, who will be playing tier three football in the new-look Ardal Northern Leagues when the season eventually begins, came out with a renewed sense of purpose in the second half.

However, Daniel Brewerton's side were unable to convert any of the chances that came their way and were undone for a third time in the second half when Matty Hill finished well to secure a fine victory for Ruthin.

Phil Hudson's side impressed once more as they made it two wins out of two in their friendlies having also overcome CPD Y Rhyl 1879 3-1 a week before.
