RUTHIN TOWN have been drawn away to fellow Cymru North side Conwy Borough in the first round of the Nathaniel MG Cup.

The draw made on Wednesday, December 2, handed Phil Hudson's side a trip to Y Morfa to face the Tangerines in what should be a great match.

The tie will be played this weekend (December 11/12) with a date and time to be confirmed.

The last match between the two sides, at Ruthin's home ground back in February, saw Conwy win 3-1 thanks to a Corrig McGonigle double and a Craig Whelan goal.

Other matches taking place up North will be: Holyhead Hotspur v Llandudno, Buckley Town v Colwyn Bay, Bangor City v Gresford Athletic, Llanrhaeadr v Llangefni Town and Holywell Town v Llanidloes Town.

It's an interesting set-up down South too, as Cardiff City and Newport enter the competition for the first time in its history, having been handed home ties with Taffs Well and Undy Athletic respectively.

Other fixtures for South Wales are as follows; Goytre United v Penrhyncoch, Pontypridd Town v Cwmbran Celtic, Ammanford v Trefelin BGC, Risca United v Afan Lido, Port Talbot Town v Cambrian & Clydach Vale BGC and Llanelli Town v Llantwit Major.
