RUTHIN Town will begin their 2020/21 JD Cymru North campaign by hosting Holyhead Hotspur at home.

The league's 16 clubs will face each other just the once this season with the format having to be changed due to the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic.

As a result, a draw was made by the Football Association of Wales last week to determine which clubs would be playing home and which would play away against their respective opponents.

Ruthin, who finished 12th last season, will begin their season by facing Hotspur at the Memorial Playing Fields on January 16.

After they will face another Anglesey club, Llangefni Town, away on January 23 before returning home to face last season's champions Prestatyn Town on January 30.

New manager Phil Hudson enjoyed a great start to life at the club last Saturday as he saw his side beat Conwy Borough 2-0 away from home to advance from the first round of the Nathaniel MG Cup.

Despite losing their main attacking threat in Llyr Morris to JD Cymru Premier club Bala Town in the summer, Ruthin have been scoring for fun in their friendlies too, seeing off the likes of Rhyl 1879 and local rivals Corwen in 'pre-season'.

The full list of fixtures announced for Ruthin's JD Cymru North season is as follows (all subject to change): Feb 6; Colwyn Bay (A), Feb 13; Holywell Town (H), Feb 27; Gresford Athletic (H), Mar 6, Guilsfield (A), Mar 20; Airbus UK (H), Apr 3; Penrhyncoch (A), Apr 6; Llanidloes Town (H), Apr 10; Bangor City (A), Apr 24; Buckley Town (H), May 3; Conwy Borough (A), May 8; Llandudno (H), May 22; Llanrhaeadr (A).
