BALA TOWN duo Llyr Morris and John Rushton have departed the club on loan for the remainder of the season.

JD Cymru Premier and JD Cymru North clubs made several last minute deals throughout transfer deadline day on February 1.

Several players switched clubs ahead of a potential season restart in the near future.

Among them were Colwyn Bay who swooped in to sign prolific forward Morris, who moved to top-flight side Bala Town last summer.

Morris was in the Lakesiders' squad for the famous UEFA Europa League qualifier 1-0 win in Malta against Valetta and the 2-0 defeat to Standard Liege in Belgium.

However, he is best known for his time at Ruthin, having progressed through the youth ranks from the age of 11 years old to being top scorer for the first team in many a season at tier two level.

Commenting on signing Morris, Colwyn Bay manager Craig Hogg said: "We're very pleased that we've been able to bring in Llyr from Bala on loan until the end of the season.

"Llyr had a solid goal-scoring record in Tier 2 North for Ruthin, where he impressed over the course of a number of seasons, and that form secured him the summer move to Bala.

"Llyr is a very good player and to add his qualities to what we feel is a very competitive group, is a big positive indeed.

"I thank Colin Caton and all at Bala for allowing the loan move to take place. We look forward to welcoming Llyr to the football club and seeing him in action for us when our season does finally get under way."

Also leaving Bala on loan is goalkeeper Rushton, who has made the temporary switch to JD Cymru Premier side Flint Town United.

The former Prestatyn Town shot-stopper, who made two appearances for Bala this season after signing last summer, is one of 13 new players to arrive at the Essity Stadium in January.

The Silkmen recently unveiled Neil Gibson as manager following the departure of Niall McGuiness.
