CONNAH'S QUAY moved to the top of the JD Cymru Premier table with a 1-0 victory over local rivals Flint Town United.

Andy Morrison's Nomads leapfrogged The New Saints into pole position as they look to re-claim the title come the end of this season.

Veteran forward Michael Wilde's goal ten minutes from time proved to be the difference in a close-fought battle at the Essity Stadium.

Elsewhere, Rhys Griffiths' spirited Penybont side climbed above Barry Town United into fourth place as they beat them 1-0 away from home.

Barry were down to ten men following Clayton Green's dismissal soon after the hour mark and that benefitted the visitors who eventually found the winner through Sam Snaith.

Aberystwyth Town secured a last-gasp victory over Haverfordwest County to move themselves out of the relegation zone.

The home side went 1-0 up through Jamie Reed on 54mins before Ben Fawcett grabbed an equaliser for the Bluebirds with eight minutes to go.

But, more drama unfolded as Aber scored their second last-minute goal in the space of four days through Louis Bradford to secure a huge three points.

Last but not least, ten-man Newtown maintained their good form with a 4-2 win at Cefn Druids, who are now back at the bottom of the table.

Jordan Evans and Lifumpa Mwandwe had put the Robins 2-0 up in the first 15 minutes before a Niall Flint double brought the Ancients back into the tie as the 40th minute approached.

There was still time for more goals before half time however as Evans popped up once more and Tyrone Ofori finished well to make it 4-2 to Newtown at the break.

In the second half, no more goals ensued but the visitors found themselves down to ten men late on when Callum Roberts was sent off.
