BALA TOWN FC have secured their place in the Championship Conference phase of the 2020/21 JD Cymru Premier campaign.

The Lakesiders have learnt their place following last night's top-flight results, which saw Penybont move up into fourth after beating Barry Town United away.

The JD Cymru Premier splits into two separate tables of six once it reaches the midway point of the season when all teams have played each other home and away.

The top six clubs enter the Championship Conference - which offers spots in the UEFA Champions League and UEFA Europa League qualifiers. The bottom six teams battle it out for survival in the top-flight.

Bala's 36 points in 17 matches sees them sit in third place, 13 points clear of sixth-placed Haverfordwest County (who have played 18 matches) meaning that they have qualified for the Championship Conference once more with five games to spare.

Colin Caton's side, who drew 0-0 with The New Saints (TNS) when top-flight football resumed on Saturday, will be looking to close the gap on the league's front-runners and current champions Connah's Quay (who are now top after winning 1-0 v Flint last night) and TNS.

Those two have also stamped their place in the Champions Conference already and are on 47pts and 45pts respectively, whilst Bala have a game in hand on them.

The Lakesiders' league record so far this season reads: 10 wins, 6 draws and just the one loss.
