THE New Saints moved four points clear at the top of the JD Cymru Premier table after weekend results went in their favour.

The Saints sit top of the pile with 16 points to their name, whilst second placed Flint Town United and third placed Bala Town are on 12 points apiece.

All teams have now played six league matches this season, with the top-flight table reallt beginning to take shape.

TNS themselves managed a 3-1 win against Barry Town United at Park Hall.

Jordan Williams fired them in front before a Rhys Abbruzzese goal equalled proceedings on the half-hour mark.

An Ash Baker goal put the home side back in front on 50mins before a goal from forward Declan McManus, who had rescued the Saints a point at Penybont a week earlier, ensured the victory in the dying moments of the match.

Bala Town moved up to third in the table by beating reigning champions Connah's Quay Nomads 1-0 away.

George Horan was sent off for the Nomads after a last-man tackle on the experienced Dave Edwards, who stepped up to take the resulting free-kick and scored a stunner.

That was enough to inflict Connah's Quay a second defeat in as many matches and they have now won just two of their opening six matches this season.

Meanwhile, Penybont picked up their first three points of the season as they came away from 10-man Cefn Druids with a 3-0 win.

Lewis Harling (13') and James Waite (31') put Rhys Griffiths' Bont side in charge at the break.

Waite then scored again immediately after the second half had restarted before the Ancients found themselves down to ten men with 20 minutes to go when Jake Hampson was dismissed.

Nine-man Flint Town United, were beaten 2-0 by Haverfordwest County who bounced back greatly from a 6-2 defeat at Bala Town just last week.

Alhagi Touray was the hero for the Bluebirds, his goals on 15 and 85 mins making the difference after both Ben Nash and Alex Jones saw red for Flint in the second half.

Caernarfon Town climbed up to fourth in the top-flight table with a 2-0 win over Cardiff Met Uni, a goal in either half from Danny Gosset and Mike Hayes handing them the victory.

In Friday night's fixture, Aberystwyth Town came away from rival Newtown with a 2-1 victory.

Jamie Veale put Aber ahead on the half-hour mark and that lead lasted through to the break.

Callum Roberts then equalised five minutes into the second half for the Robins - but a goal Jonathan Evans with 20 minutes to go sealed the win for the visitors.
