WINTER is coming at Denbigh Golf Club!

This week sees the popular winter league at the club commencing, which will run from Monday to Sunday, and again it will be arranged by the professional.

The club's summer season ended last week without the traditional captain versus vice-captain match.

This had to be abandoned owing to a positive Covid test to a member of the captain’s family.

A stableford competition was arranged in lieu to close the season.

On Sunday, the TM Hughes Cup event - the annual past captains meet - was curtailed to 15 holes when torrential rain swamped the course mid afternoon.

The victor was Adam Houston, who edged out runner-up Peter H Jones after they both accumulated 34 points.

This made it two wins in 24 hours for Houston, who triumphed in Saturday's stableford competition.
