WINTER is here for Denbigh Golf Club members - and the new season has started with a hot round!
The unfriendly weather which greeted players to start the club's winter league programme did not prevent members returning some commendable scores last week, with 93 participating. CSS for the week was 34 pts
Although Irishman Alan O’Malley clinched a victory in the first round with 43 points, it was Kieran Shaw who stole the limelight with a two-under-par round, also returning 43 points.
This won the silver division, edging out David Jones (43) on the back nine.
A popular score indeed, with David Clayton also returning 43 points to win the bronze division, with Jon Roberts claiming second place with 42 points.
The challenge hole was the 15th, with Gwilym Williams recording nearest the pin.
