BALA Town suffered a second consecutive 4-1 home loss at the weekend.

Following on from their Nathaniel MG Cup semi-final defeat to Connah's Quay Nomads, the Lakesiders were beaten on their return to Cymru Premier League action versus league leaders The New Saints.

Ben Clark and Blaine Hudson got the ball rolling for the visitors, before Declan McManus and Jordan Williams added further comfort in the second half to see their side to victory.

A late goal for Town saw Chris Sang grab his first goal in Bala colours, but it was merely a consolation on a tough night at Maes Tegid.

After a fairly even opening, it was Clark who broke the deadlock as the Bala backline failed to get the ball clear following a superb Alex Ramsay double save and the midfielder sliced a half-volley into the top corner.

Soon after, the Saints doubled their advantage when Chris Marriot's cross saw Blaine Hudson head into the net.

Lassana Mendes tried to fire Bala back into the game, with his effort from distance dipping just over the bar.

Then, Dave Edwards went close as he poked a shot that crept past the post.

Turning to the second half and Ramsay made an unbelievable reaction save to keep out Ryan Brobbel's header.

At the other end, Saints' keeper Paul Harrison was called into action as he matched Will Evans’ spectacular overhead kick with a superb save.

It was game over when Declan McManus made it 3-0 from the spot and a defensive disaster a couple of minutes later saw goal number four, with Williams getting it.

Off the bench and onto the scoresheet came Chris Sang with only five minutes remaining as he grabbed his first goal for Bala with a tidy finish.

The Lakesiders will now look to bounce back in South Wales as they head to Haverfordwest County on Saturday.
