BALA Town had to be satisfied with a point from their weekend efforts.

The Lakesiders headed to Haverfordwest County for their latest Cymru Premier League contest and it finished up 0-0.

Colin Caton's side went close to scoring only ten minutes in, with Ollie Shannon seeing his shot cleared off the line by Jazz Richards.

This was the only real highlight of a poor first-half.

It was a different story after the interval, with more opportunities coming to light.

Following half-time, the hosts looked a lot more threatening, with Mason Jones-Thomas being given the freedom to run at Bala's defence.

He went close to putting the hosts ahead on several occasions.

The first of these opportunities came on the hour mark with Johnny Spittle managing to get his body in the way of the winger's effort as the side netting welcomed the ball.

At the other end, Paul Rutherford had an opportunity to test the Bluebirds’ goalkeeper following a poor defensive clearance, but the midfielder’s touch let him down as the chance got away from him.

Jones-Thomas was later able to test Alex Ramsay for the first time as he forced the keeper to get down well to a bobbling shot from outside the area.

Again, Jones-Thomas was at the forefront of another attack, when he forced Ramsay into another great save after he managed to weave his way into the box.

The final opportunity, though, went the way of the Lakesiders.

Antony Kay climbed to meet a Rutherford corner and he was inches away from sealing the three points as his header struck the crossbar.
