LLEW Davies was indeed surprised to find his ball in the hole during the latest week of Denbigh Golf Club winter league action.
He holed out for a two at the first, gaining him 5 points to start his round. Davies again added another two at the 15th for another four points, but his total failed to make a placing and avoided a handicap reduction.
Another feat was the Wilcox Jones brothers results with an outright win and topping the bronze division showing their skills go further than the cricket field.
The league takes a break this week with the Christmas competition, with players not restricted to one prize but as many good returns as they can achieve.
