HEAVY rain recently forced Denbigh Golf Club to close for three days.

Despite the forced closure, over 100 members took advantage of some fair weather to get their winter league cards returned.

However to protect the course, the club decided to ban buggies and quite a number carried their bags with a reduced number of clubs.

Craig Stubbs was the week nine winner with 41 points, one clear of Andrew Witton and Elfed Jones, who were first and second respectively in the silver division.

David Platt (38 points) triumphed in the bronze division, with the same tally of points as section runner-up Fred Jones.

Tim Jones was on the money to be nearest to the pin on the eighth hole.
