RUTHIN TOWN boss Phil Hudson has scooped a Cymru North accolade.

Hudson has been named as the league's manager of the month for December.

During the month, Ruthin won three out of three in the league to climb into the top-five.

They managed to defeat Penrhyncoch, Llanidloes Town and Colwyn Bay, scoring a fine 11 goals in the process.

A Ruthin Town Tweet said: "We are delighted to announce that our management team headed by @phillyhudson have won the Manager of the Month award after a fantastic month taking all 9 points available.

"A lot of hard work by everyone has accumulated towards a great month for the club."

Gresford Athletic's Joe Chaplin has been named as the Cymru North player of the month for December.

Chaplin had a hand in all bar one of Gresford’s seven goals against Prestatyn Town in December.

The striker fired home no fewer than five goals on the day and he provided an assist as his side chalked up an emphatic 7-0 victory at Clappers Lane.

Added to this, Chaplin registered another assist in Gresford's penultimate fixture of the year against Buckley Town, which resulted in a 2-0 win.

Gresford will return to Cymru North action on Friday evening at unbeaten title chasers Guilsfield.
