BALA made it three Division One (North) wins on the bounce with a 61-5 success at Dinbych.

A well-drilled and motivated Bala side used their set piece dominance to launch attacks through the tight driving play of their forwards or using their quick possession to release their dangerous back division to good effect.

With limited possession, Dinbych’s own attacks were thwarted as they were always operating under pressure from an aggressive Bala defence.

Bala started well and soon opened the scoring with a try by hooker Endaf Jones, who touched down following a powerful driving maul from beyond the 22.

Outside half Dion Atherton added the conversion points.

This was soon followed by a try by flanker Ceredig Pugh from a short range scrum with Atherton again converting.

Midway through the half, Bala used their scrum advantage to drive over for a pushover try claimed by Elan Rowlands followed by wing Guto Roberts going over in the corner for a try after an interception halted a rare Dinbych attack on halfway. Both tries went unconverted.

Dinbych managed a reply when centre Aidyn Jones won the race to touch down for an unconverted try following up a grubber kick by outside half Robyn Cartwright.

Bala closed the half with a try by prop Garin Davies from a driving maul from a short range line out to leave the visitors ahead 29-5 at the interval.

Bala increased their lead with two tries early in the second half when Endaf Jones scored his second try following a driving maul, followed by one from replacement prop Luke Davies, with Atherton converting one.

Dinbych managed to stem the flow for a short period before Bala ran in four tries in the final quarter through scrum half Gethin Jones, left wing Elgan Evans and a brace by right wing Iwan Howatson.

Aidyn Jones then typified Dinbych’s character by pulling off a try saving tackle in the last move of the game.
