TWO sides continue to fly the North Wales flag in the WRU Shield after last weekend's spot of action.

Ruthin Seconds took their Division Three (North) form into the competition as they secured their spot in the next round.

The Blues, unbeaten in the league so far this season, saw off visitors Bettws 17-10 to reach the last-eight.

Joining them in the quarter-finals are Holyhead, who were able to defeat South Gower 34-23.

Ruthin will travel to Ferndale for their quarter-final on February 19.

In the WRU Plate, Bethesda lost 34-6 at Aberystwyth, while Bala's clash at home to Bonymaen was postponed.

There were two matches in Division Three (North).

Tries from Seth Geary and Matt Liversage gave Mold Seconds a 17-5 win at home to Denbigh Seconds, while Rhosllanerchrugog were defeated 54-0 by Machynlleth.

There's a return to league action this weekend.

In Division One (North), in-form Bala welcome COBRA, while Dinbych go to Caernarfon.

Ruthin are also on their travels as they go to Llangefni.

Division Three (North) leaders Ruthin Seconds host Rhosllanerchrugog and Dinbych Seconds welcome Llanidloes.
