ONLY one day was lost to bad weather last week at Denbigh Golf Club with 111 players returning scores.
However, Mike Hughes - having hovered in the wings until now - produced a winning score of 37 points and moved into the top position with what looks like an unassailable margin.
He has a seven-point margin at the top of the winter league with only four weeks remaining.
The team positions produced another battle with two teams now on a total on 97 points and a third on 96.
