FREE-SCORING Denbigh Town returned to winning ways over the weekend.

Days after losing out 5-4 in their Ardal North West League derby with St Asaph City, Dewi Llion's side triumphed 10-0 at Brymbo.

With Jacob Barratt, unavailable Mark Roberts and Josh Davies returned to Denbigh's starting XI.

Covid is rife and spreading like wildfire through the Brymbo camp, meaning manager Chris Parry was forced to draft in a number of reserve team players to make up the match day squad.

At a very blustery Crick, the game got off to a fast and furious start, with neither team being able to maintain possession or craft out any clear cut chances.

On five minutes, the game was effectively ended as a contest.

Jake Walker's first time effort resulted in a deliberate handball inches from the goal line.

The referee had no choice but to reach for his pocket and brandish a red card to McGrath and award Denbigh a penalty.

Kristian Pierce stepped up and made no mistake from the spot kick.

On 20 minutes, Denbigh were almost 2-0 up through Mark Roberts only for the linesman to burst his bubble raising his flag for an offside.

After a number of missed chances, the pressure finally told when Denbigh went two-up on 25 minutes.

Roberts' thunderous effort from outside the box initially looked as if it had been saved by Bailey, but the ball looped off his body and into the empty net.

It only took a couple more minutes for Denbigh to go further ahead.

Keiron Roberts, with the threat of a fine and forfeit weighing heavily around his neck, finally broke his season duck with a superb strike from outside the box into the left hand corner.

Things went from bad to worse for Brymbo on 36 minutes with keeper Bailey forced to leave the field injured.

With no available substitutes, Brymbo found themselves down to nine men with 54 minutes left.

On the stroke of half-time, Josh Davies got in on the act, firing an unstoppable first time half-volley into the corner of the net.

The second half provided an opportunity for Dewi Llion to unleash some young blood, with Harry Lea entering the fold for the impressive Sean James.

On 51 minutes, the industrious Pierce burst down the left and saw his cross being inadvertently fired into his own net by Rob Cooper.

Denbigh soon had six with Jake Walker getting in on the act, via an unstoppable shot low into the far left hand corner.

There was no respite for depleted Brymbo and, on 69 minutes, Josh Davies fired in the seventh with a clinical volley from a Mark Roberts cross.

On 80 minutes, defender Craig Rogers got in on the act from a Denbigh corner.

A bit of pinball in the box eventually saw the ball nestle in the Brymbo net, a goal Rogers will be sure to claim.

Denbigh were content to be patient and pass the ball around, and this neat build-up work brought about the ninth on 83 minutes, with Walker slamming in his second.

Mark Roberts grabbed his second and Denbigh's 10th on 87 minutes, racing clear from the halfway line and coolly slotting passed the Brymbo keeper.
