LLANELWY Athletic pushed champions Abergele close before slipping to a 3-2 loss in Division One of the North Wales Coast (East) League.
It was a topsy-turvy afternoon as Dylan Murray and Mike Chapman netted for Athletic.
Abergele, who had Jack Hoult sent off, eventually gained the victory thanks to Danny Holland's 79th minute strike.
Llanelwy end the season in fourth spot.
